Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mensintesikan manajemen pendidikan sekolah unggul, strategi implementasi dan kompetisi antar lembaga. Dimensi manajemen pendidikan yang menjadi fokus yaitu kurikulum dan pembelajaran, peserta didik, pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan, keuangan, sarana dan prasarana, dan partisipasi masyarakat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan kualitatif jenis studi multisitus yang digunakan yaitu multi-situs induksi analitis termodifikasi. Lokasi penelitian di dua sekolah menengah pertama terbaik di Malang Raya, Jawa Timur, satu sekolah bestatus negeri dan lainya swasta. Pengumpulan data berhubungan langsung dengan sumbernya (primer), melalui wawancara, mengamati, mendengarkan, menafsirkan, dan menganalisis. Analisis data dilakukan saat proses dan setelah pengumpulan dan diolah, peneliti melukiskan dan menafsirkan data yang ada, menjelaskan proses yang terjadi, menyatakan baik atau tidak, menjelaskan keunggulan dan kelemahannya, dan sesuai atau tidaknya proses yang dilakukan dengan prinsip-prinsip umum yang berlaku. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan manajemen pendidikan sekolah unggul, strategi implementasi, dan persaingan antar institusi merupakan dinamika yang saling terhubung membentuk sudut pandang pendidikan terkini.
